Lily Emery

Client Services Director

With twelve years client leadership experience, Lily is co-founder and head of client services at Matter. Lily is motivated by translating her clients' business objectives into digital initiatives and working closely with her client and agency partners to ensure the immaculate delivery of resulting products and services. Central to Lily's success is her breadth of experience. Experience across roles including client service director, sales director and delivery director. Experience across a broad client base comprised some of the largest brands in the world (including Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, American Express, PepsiCo and Burberry) and experience across channels including TV, radio, print and digital. As a result, Lily is comfortable crafting client and agency relationships based on mutual trust in order to ensure the highest possible levels of innovation, client service and care.

Stephen Folkes

Managing Director

A seasoned creative and strategist, with a love of technology. As co-founder and managing director of Matter, Steve combines his unique mix of skills and design-led problem solving to solutions that consider users first and foremost, whether that’s the client or their direct audience. Prior to Matter, back in 2008 Steve founded Nudge Social Media - one of the first full-service social media agencies, helping clients such as Sony PlayStation and Vodafone to find their feet on the emerging platforms. Nudge was later acquired by Canadian tech platform Syncapse Corp, of which he became global creative director, advising clients such as Coca-Cola, BlackBerry and Anheuser-Busch (InBev) how to maximise brand advocates using big-data, social technology and brand interaction.

Mike Massari

Technical Director

Mike began his development career in Italy, a few years later founding his first company Keydes in Milan. In 2011 he made the move to London, seeking out even bigger challenges, and chalked up his first CTO role. He brings experience from working with some of the biggest brands in the world including Disney, Red Bull, Pirelli, NH Hotels and Corriere Della Sera. He likes people and creating well-structured applications with them; always with an eye on the latest technologies, and with a tiny-but-powerful cup of coffee close to hand.
